ILS Program Manual – September 2015 Edition
The September 2015 edition of the ILS Program Manual has been amended and revised to reflect changes related to the operation of the ILS Program and to provide greater clarity for users. The following is a list of the principle updates and clarifications included in this latest version of the ILS Program Manual. We encourage you to review the entire ILS Program Manual.
UPDATE:
1. ILS Scope
We have provided additional clarification that the ILS Program applies to the production of all products, product components, and materials in physical form that incorporate Disney intellectual property. This includes the production of packaging, display, and marketing materials containing Disney intellectual property.
2. Production Definition
Production activities may not commence at a Facility without a signed FAMA. Production activities include, but are not limited to, the manufacture, processing, finishing, assembly, labeling, printing, and packaging of Disney branded products. Licensees and Vendors must obtain a signed FAMA before these production activities can begin.
3. ILS Audit Requirements
Newly established Facilities with less than three months of operating history are not eligible for Disney branded production. Relocated Facilities are subject to the same ILS Audit requirements as these newly‐established Facilities.
4. MCS Violation Examples
Minimum Compliance Standard violations have been described in greater detail and relevant examples have been provided.
5. Permitted Sourcing Country Definition
Additional detail has been provided related to the requirement that Licensees and Vendors source raw materials and blank products only from Permitted Sourcing Countries.
6. Updated list of Permitted Sourcing Countries
The Permitted Sourcing Country list has been revised to reflect changes made earlier in the year:
Permitted without ILS Audits: Croatia and United Arab Emirates
Permitted with ILS Audits: Ecuador and Cambodia*
*Better Work restrictions apply.
7. Updated FAMA Application
An updated FAMA Application has been included.
8. Addition of Sample Monthly Licensee/Vendor Status Report
A sample monthly Licensee/Vendor Status Report has been included along with references to how Licensees and Vendors can usethis report to help ensure ILS requirements are met.
