a. Incoming Quality Control
1. Does factory conduct inspection & testing to verify incoming material quality?
2. Does factory well control every batch of incoming material (i.e. not only check for 1st batch)?
3. Does factory maintain document to control and ensure that all parts are correct & complied customer requirement?
4. Does supplier pack the incoming material in good condition that would reduce damage?
5. Does factory provide quarantine area for waiting test result of raw material received prior to dispatch to bulk?
6. Does factory well identify the inspection status (i.e. Passed) on every batch of raw material after passed inspection & testing?
7. Does supplier provide reference samples to factory for evaluating before bulk delivery?
8. Does factory segregate and label the left-over materials at stock to avoid mix-up with bulk?
9. Does factory specify the tolerance on customer requirement as safety margin?
10. Does factory have system to recall defective batch of incoming material that would not be mixed with other batches from supplier (e.g. segregation of the defective batch)?
b. Material Specifications
1. Does factory have material specification / Bill Of Material (BOM) for all incoming materials to ensure putting the correct materials into bulk production?
2. Does paint & solvent have batch code, supplier name & color name / code, expiry date?
3. Is Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) provided & kept for all paints & solvents (also show actual ingredient list)?
4. Does snap / rivet / shank supplier provide Trim Data Sheet that factory can use it to measure the trim size & quality meeting requirement during set-up and bulk?
5. Does factory pass all trims through needle detector machine before accepting the goods into warehouse?
C. Incoming Inspection
1. Is the incoming inspection conducted with sampling plan (e.g. AQL) with inspection records before putting into warehouse?
2. Is the incoming inspection conducted with trained person and proper inspection tools (e.g. caliper, rulers)?
3. Does IQC have system to monitor the performance of testing and inspection equipment in use (e.g. equipment calibration)?
4. Does IQC have the policy to classify Critical, Major & Minor failure & its acceptance level?
5. Does factory have system to control & verify all reference samples before distributing to all departments?
6. Are all incoming lots in IQC marked with clear identification as “Pending for inspection”, “Passed” or “Rejected”?
7. Does factory maintain the inspection records & marking on inspected goods for identification in bulk production?
